NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT (NEPA)

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is the lead federal agency responsible for reviewing and managing GB Energy Park’s environmental review process. This process is covered by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), which requires federal agencies to assess environmental effects of their proposed actions prior to making decisions.

NEPA Scoping Document 2 - 8/22/14

On August 22, 2014, FERC issued their Scoping Document 2 (SD2) for the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review of the Gordon Butte Pumped Storage Hydro Project. SD2 was generated in response to comments made by federal and state agencies, as well as the general public, during the NEPA Scoping Meetings held in Helena and Martinsdale on June 22, 2014.
